To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Maryland's divestment from apartheid-era South Africa and to honor the pivotal role of Marylanders in the global fight for civil rights, "Marylanders Cry Freedom: Civil Rights At Home and Abroad," is on view at Baltimore City Hall.
A companion to the America's Voices Against Apartheid exhibit presented at the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., this exhibit celebrates the spirit of resilience and innovation that defined generations and shares how countless Marylanders - from well-known politicians, artists, students, and everyday citizens have connected in solidarity with others across the African Diaspora, influencing cultures and advancing the fight for human rights, freedom, and democracy.

Exhibit Hours
The exhibit is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We ask that you schedule a visit with us, as these hours may change due to programming at Baltimore City Hall.
All visitors must present valid photo identification upon entering the building. Please note all visitors will be subject to security screening upon entering the building.
